Y en esto quiero saber si tú amas al Señor y a mí, siervo suyo y tuyo, si haces esto, o sea que no haya ningún hermano en el mundo que, habiendo pecado todo lo que se puede pecar, y después de haber visto tus ojos, no se vaya nunca sin tu misericordia, si pidió misericordia. Y si no la pide, pregúntale tú a él si la quiere. Y si luego pecara mil veces ante tus ojos, ámalo más que a mí, para que lo atraigas al Señor; y compadécete siempre de esos tales...
Si alguno de los frailes peca mortalmente por instigación del enemigo, tendrá que recurrir, por obediencia, a su guardián. Y todos los frailes que sepan que ha pecado, no lo avergüencen ni hablan mal de él, mas tengan gran misericordia con él y tengan muy secreto el pecado de su hermano, porque no necesitan de médico los sanos, sino los enfermos. (Mt 9,12)... Igualmente estén obligados, por obediencia, a mandarlo a su custodio con un compañero. Y el custodio se comporte misericordiosamente con él, como quería que se comportaran con él, si se viese en un caso semejante.
Y si cayera en otro pecado venial, se confiese con un hermano suyo sacerdote. Y si no hubiese un sacerdote, se confiese con otro hermano suyo, hasta que haya un sacerdote que lo absuelva canónicamente, como se ha dicho. Y éste no tenga potestad de imponer más penitencia que esta: "Vete y no peques más".(Jn 8,11)

That there be no brother in the world, that, having sinned all that one can sin, and after having seen your eyes, he does not ever go without your mercy, if he asked for mercy. And if he does not ask, you ask him if he wants it. And then if he would sin a thousand times before your eyes, love him more than you love me, so that you draw him to the Lord and always have compassion with such as these ...
If any of the friars sins mortally at the instigation of the enemy, he shall have to go, in obedience, to his guardian. And all the friars who who know that he has sinned, do not embarrass him nor speak ill of him, but have great mercy on him and hold very secret the sin of their brother, because the healthy need no doctor, but the sick do. (Mt 9:12) ... Likewise be bound by obedience to send him to his guardian with a companion. And the custodian shall behave graciously with him, as he would want other to behave towards him, if he were in a similar case.
And should he fall into another venial sin, he should confess to one of his brother priest. And if there were not a priest, he shall confess with another brother, until there is a priest who will absolve him canonically, as stated. And he shall have no more power to impose more penance than this: "Go and sin no more." (Jn 8.11)
