Aprendamos de los "incapacitados".
Años atrás, en unas competencias del las Olimpiadas Especiales celebradas en Seattle, nueve contendientes, todos con deficiencias físicas o mentales, se alistaron en el punto de arranque para la carrera de las 100 yardas. Al sonido de la pistola, todos empezaron, aunque no muy precipitadamente, pero con ganas de correr hasta el final y ganar. Todos, eso es, excepto por un niño que tropezó, se revolcó varias veces, y comenzó a llorar.
Los otros ochos, al oír llorar al niño, aflojaron el paso y miraron hacía atrás. Entonces, para la sorpresa de los espectadores, todos regresaron para asistirle. Una niña con el Síndrome Down se agachó y besándole le dijo: "Esto te hará sentir bien." Entonces los nueve enlazaron sus brazos y caminaron todos juntos hasta la línea final.
Todos en el estadio se pararon y aplaudieron efusivamente por largo tiempo. Nunca había habido unas olimpiadas tan emocionantes y tan reveladoras de las mas altas capacidades humanas. Las personas que estuvieron allí todavía cuentan lo sucedido.
¡Cuanto nos enseñan estos hermanos "retrasados"!

Down´s Syndrome competitors teach us how to love
And they call some of these people "retarded"... few years ago, at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash.
At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry.
The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back. Every one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said: "This will make it better." Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several minutes. People who were there are still telling the story.
