Hence the proverb: "Like pastor, like parish". According to this word of Ecclesiastes (10:2) "those who dwell in the state, take after their ruler."

La buena moralidad y salvación de la gente depende de los buenos pastores. Si hay un buen sacerdote a cargo de la parroquia, pronto verás prosperar devoción, gente frecuentando los sacramentos, y honrando la práctica de la oración mental. De ahí el proverbio: “De tal pastor, tal parroquia". Según esta palabra del Eclesiástico (10: 2) "los que viven en el país, se parecen a sus gobernantes."
