Consecration of our Marriage
to the heart of Jesus through the heart of Mary

Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Mother, we _____, having united in Christ in Holy Matrimony, now wish to consecrate ourselves to you and thus place ourselves under your guidance and protection. Mother, help us enter into the unity Jesus prayed for:

That they also may be consecrated in truth...
The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one.
Jn 17:19,22-23.

Mother, that we be one, we pray, as your Immaculate Heart and the Sacred Heart of Jesus are one. One of heart and mind; one in fidelity and trust; one in sorrows and joys; one in faith, hope and charity.

Mother, teach us to say “yes” to God and to each other, to give ourselves without reserve as a sacrifice of love, until death do us part. Help us to say “yes” to the children that God may bless us with. We consecrate them to you. May our home be a true domestic church where you reign with Jesus. Help us to unite with Christ the daily routines as well as the big trials and difficulties so that they become sources of grace. Mother, teach us to ponder the Word as you do, teach us kindness, humility, purity, faith, hope and charity, that we may be like you.

As the raging waves of a godless culture threaten to wash away our faith and destroy God's plan for marriage and family, we poor sinners, seek through our consecration to belong entirely to you. Take us with you to the cross and into the pierced heart of your Son where we enter into the power and wisdom of God.

Mother, you who said to St. Bernadette “I am the Immaculate Conception”, protect us from all impurity and deceit. You who showed the children of Fatima the dangers of this world that lead souls to hell, help us to avail ourselves of the remedies you offered: repentance, penance, the Eucharist and prayer.

We are filled with confidence by your words to S. Juan Diego: “Do not let anything afflict you and be not afraid of illness or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Are you not in the crossing of my arms? Is there anything else you need?”

O loving Mother, we pledge to live intensely our Catholic Faith, to fulfill our vocation to marriage and to strive to be a source of hope and healing to those around us. Mother, present us to your beloved Son as his disciples so that He who redeemed us through you, will now receive us through you and make us His own.
