HEB 11:1-7
Brothers and sisters:
Faith is the realization of what is hoped for
and evidence of things not seen.
Because of it the ancients were well attested.
By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the word of God,
so that what is visible came into being through the invisible.
By faith Abel offered to God a sacrifice greater than Cain's.
Through this, he was attested to be righteous,
God bearing witness to his gifts,
and through this, though dead, he still speaks.
By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death,
and he was found no more because God had taken him.
Before he was taken up, he was attested to have pleased God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him,
for anyone who approaches God must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who seek him.
By faith Noah, warned about what was not yet seen,
with reverence built an ark for the salvation of his household.
Through this, he condemned the world
and inherited the righteousness that comes through faith.

Gospel MK 9:2-13
Jesus took Peter, James, and John
and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves.
And he was transfigured before them,
and his clothes became dazzling white,
such as no fuller on earth could bleach them.
Then Elijah appeared to them along with Moses,
and they were conversing with Jesus.
Then Peter said to Jesus in reply,
"Rabbi, it is good that we are here!
Let us make three tents:
one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
He hardly knew what to say, they were so terrified.
Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them;
then from the cloud came a voice,
"This is my beloved Son. Listen to him."
Suddenly, looking around, the disciples no longer saw anyone
but Jesus alone with them.
As they were coming down from the mountain,
he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone,
except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
So they kept the matter to themselves,
questioning what rising from the dead meant.
Then they asked him,
"Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
He told them, "Elijah will indeed come first and restore all things,
yet how is it written regarding the Son of Man
that he must suffer greatly and be treated with contempt?
But I tell you that Elijah has come
and they did to him whatever they pleased,
as it is written of him."
Heb 11, 1-7
Hermanos: La fe es la forma de poseer, ya desde ahora, lo que se espera y de conocer las realidades que no se ven. Por ella fueron alabados nuestros mayores.
Por la fe, sabemos que el universo fue hecho por la palabra de Dios, de suerte que aquello que vemos, surgió de lo que no vemos.
Por la fe, Abel ofreció un sacrificio más excelente que el de Caín, y por ella fue declarado justo, pues Dios mismo aceptó sus ofrendas; y por su fe nos sigue hablando después de muerto.
Por su fe, Henoc fue trasladado sin pasar por la muerte: Desapareció, porque Dios se lo llevó. La Escritura da testimonio a su favor de que, ya antes de ser trasladado, era agradable a Dios. Ahora bien, sin fe es imposible agradarlo, pues quien se acerca a Dios debe creer que él existe y que recompensa a quienes lo buscan.
Por la fe, Noé aceptó el aviso de Dios sobre lo que aún no sucedía y con religioso temor construyó un arca para salvarse con su familia; su fe se constituyó en condena para el mundo incrédulo y él quedó establecido como heredero de la justicia que proviene de la fe.

En el esplendor de la nube se oyó la voz del Padre, que decía:
"Éste es mi Hijo amado; escúchenlo".

Mc 9, 2-13
En aquel tiempo, Jesús tomó aparte a Pedro, a Santiago y a Juan, subió con ellos a un monte alto y se transfiguró en su presencia. Sus vestiduras se pusieron esplendorosamente blancas, con una blancura que nadie puede lograr sobre la tierra. Después se les aparecieron Elías y Moisés, conversando con Jesús.
Entonces Pedro le dijo a Jesús: "Maestro, ¡qué a gusto estamos aquí! Hagamos tres chozas, una para ti, otra para Moisés y otra para Elías". En realidad no sabía lo que decía, porque estaban asustados.
Se formó entonces una nube, que los cubrió con su sombra, y de esta nube salió una voz que decía: "Éste es mi Hijo amado; escúchenlo". En ese momento miraron alrededor y no vieron a nadie sino a Jesús, que estaba solo con ellos.
Cuando bajaban de la montaña, Jesús les mandó que no contaran a nadie lo que habían visto, hasta que el Hijo del hombre resucitara de entre los muertos. Ellos guardaron esto en secreto, pero discutían entre sí qué querría decir eso de 'resucitar de entre los muertos'.
Le preguntaron a Jesús: "¿Por qué dicen los escribas que primero tiene que venir Elías?" Él les contestó: "Si fuera cierto que Elías tiene que venir primero y tiene que poner todo en orden, entonces ¿cómo es que está escrito que el Hijo del hombre tiene que padecer mucho y ser despreciado? Por lo demás, yo les aseguro que Elías ha venido ya y lo trataron a su antojo, como estaba escrito de él".
