Inquisition

Pope Benedict cited Hitler in his visit to England, asking everyone to "reflect on the sobering lessons of atheist extremism of the 20th century." The British Humanist Association reacted accusing the pope of "a terrible libel against those who do not believe in God."

The pope had to speak the truth because the atheistic mindset continues today to disregard the dignity of human life. In addition to the Nazi holocauste atheism is responsible for 67 million men, women and children murdered under Stalin, and the 77 million Chinese killed by Mao. The atheism of these men and their followers was militant and dogmatic. This is the kind of atheism that is becoming increasingly active today.

The figures above and the present threat is ignored and yet much is said about the crimes of the Inquisition. It is important to keep things in perspective. A grand total of 1,394 were killed during the 250 years of the Inquisition, most all of whom were murdered by secular authorities. The pope has already condemned such crimes.  When are the atheists going to come into reality?
