HUMILITY
Cenacle teaching 9/5/13

But this is the man to whom I will look, he that is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word. Isaiah 66:2

My son, perform your tasks in meekness; then you will be loved by those whom God accepts. The greater you are, the more you must humble yourself; so you will find favor in the sight of the Lord. Sirach 2:17-20

For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Luke 14:11

Do you know, my daughter, who you are and who I am? If you have this two fold knowledge you will be happy. You are she who is not. I am He who is. (Blessed Raymond de Capoue/ Conchita's Diary p. 43)

Qualities of true humility:

* knowledge of self and God

Beginning of Path at the foot of the Cross
Colossians 1: 9-11 And so, from the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 to lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might...

power & authority (Luke 4: 31-37)
"They were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority" Luke 4:32
"For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” Luke 4:36

Speaks the truth & lives in the truth (ex MOC w/ family member) prudence

“My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; 49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. Luke 1

Live who you are...” We tend to hide out of fear

Lives to please God not others / obedience

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant,[a] being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him... Philippians 2:5-9

A wimpy, wishy-washy person is not humble but in bondage.

*people pleasers: living for the approval of others, recognition, fear of making mistakes, fear of confrontation

Courage / zeal for the House of the Lord

Luke 5:1-11 Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch...

* Yielding control / TRUST

* “Is there anyone who is not moved by the witness of absolute dedication to Christ? This is the allure of the saints, whom the Church never tires of contemplating and of presenting as proof that it is possible to follow Jesus Christ with our entire selves, that it is possible to make a radical commitment to the Son of God.” (Magnificat 9/2013 Dom Mauro Giuseppe Lepori)

childlike/ complete dependence on God

Knowledge of God:

For thus says the Lord: ...and you shall suck, you shall be carried upon her hip, and dandled upon her knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. Is 66:12-13

Emotionally healthy person/ communicates directly / transparent (opposite of a dysfunctional person)

Peter's transparency is part of the Gospel, of the good news of redemption in Christ. We can and must enter the school of Simon Peter, the school of his journey with Jesus, in order to follow the Lord as he wants to be followed, to cling to Christ as he enables us to love him.” (Dom Mauro Giuseppe Lepori)

SILENCE

doesn't have to prove himself / justify himself

What a humble person is not:

DOOR MAT / RED CARPET

a victim soul IS NOT a person who is victimized voluntarily. To allow ourselves to be victimized by others is to live in disorder, in bondage. Jesus came to set us free, to deliver us. He never wants us to remain as victims in our own disorder and woundedness.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed... Luke 4:18

21 And he began to say to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

Therefore, when we live in our woundedness, fears and disorders we can not grow in humility.

Do you love Me?

To love Me is to allow yourself to be set ablaze with the fire of Divine Love.

Love of Me is to suffer as ONE with Me for others solely for Love. I lived the interior crucifixion because I am ONE with the Father. This perfect and pure love for My Father moved Me to offer Myself as His sacrifice of love, because His desire for you became and is My desire for you, thus, Love moved Me to offer up to Love My living sacrifice as ONE with Love.

Divine Love on earth is victim love; any other love is not Divine Love.

3/1/11
It is through My crucified gaze that you will desire to be One with The Victim of Love, in which you will desire solely the Cross, in which you will desire the salvation of all your brothers and sisters and forget yourself, in which you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit to lay down your life as My sacrifice of love for the salvation of many.

8/6/13 Message from our Blessed Mother
My little one, be attentive, for God our Father is allowing Satan to tempt you (LC). The power of your intercession is contained in the purity of your hearts; the purity of your intentions. Trust and with patient endurance allow all your disorders to come to the Light. It is only in this way that you can be made pure in the furnace of God's love.

I need you to be my pure intercessors of love before the throne of our Father with me. You are my white army.

What does it mean to enter into the Sacred Heart of Jesus and allow ourselves to be set ablaze with the fire of Divine Love?

We grow in true humility as we allow ourselves to be healed by God.

dig up & bring to the throne of conscience- 1st step & most important

* “We become 'filled with the knowledge of God's will' by first facing our own sins and surrendering to the divine mercy that delivers us from the power of darkness.”( Magnificat p. 73, Sept. 2013)

* Luke 5:1-11 "Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." 5 And Simon answered, "Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets." 6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a great shoal of fish; and as their nets were breaking, 7 they beckoned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord." 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the catch of fish which they had taken; 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; henceforth you will be catching men." 11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

Wound is not automatically healed. Now we must move through our fears doing many times what is most difficult for us.

ex. Fear of speaking up/ enabler / fear of rejection /

*Transformation, becoming a new creation, takes place in the heart
